J111 Backstay
Here’s a J111 Backstay we were recently asked to produce. The J111 uses a hydraulic backstay cylinder with a short range so its important to have a low stretch backstay material at the correct length.
For this project we selected a very high grade Dyneema core from Marlow Ropes and fully covered with 100% HMPE chafe sleeve. This produced a low stretch and durable finish.
The pin size is quite small on the J111 so we produced some custom stainless thimbles to increase the bearing surface to an acceptable size. The helps to retain the break load of the rope.
